The Victoria Alviti Music Foundation, one of many programs across the state that is run by the Rhode Island Philharmonic Music School, is part of the Victoria’s Dream Project – named for Victoria Alviti, who was killed in an automobile crash eight years ago at age 22. Her family set up a foundation to honor Victoria’s desire to promote music programs in schools, at a time when some school systems have had to cut back on music and art programs. The Alviti Foundation funds music education programs that offer opportunities for active participation in music, impacting the lives of nearly 2,000 students each year through partnerships with schools across Southern New England. In November of 2016, Sharon Alviti, founder and president of the Victoria Alviti Music Foundation, received the Partners in Philanthropy award from the RI Philharmonic Music School for furthering the achievement of their mission through significant generosity and outstanding leadership.
The RIGMC is very pleased to partner with the foundation and support the efforts to keep music alive in the schools and in the hearts of so many students.
